Mr. Patterson's statement as relates error in Sarah's [Beckwith] age is correct. She was my great-grandmother, and the family record makes her birth year as 1741. After the death of her first husband, Nathan Peck, she married my great-grandfather, John Mack, and by him had three daughters, Azubah, Abigail, and Caroline who married Oct. 23, 1787 my grandfather Moses Fox of Millington Parish, East Haddam. She (Caroline Mack-Fox) was born March 21, 1761.

After death of her second husband, John Mack, she married a third husband Samuel Ray. You can safely correct her birth date to May 26, 1741, which is old style, to which add ten days and you will have June 6, 1741, new style, which is the birth date given in family records. You will note that it is hardly probable that there would be an interval of over six years between the first two children.

Bio: Sarah was born 26 May 1745 in the Hadlyme Parish of East Haddam CT, daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Wiley) Beckwith of Hadlyme, CT. She was baptised on 31 Aug 1746 with her siblings Prudence, Patience and Joseph Jr.
She married 1st John Mack, son of Jonathan and Sarah [Bennett] Mack , who was still living as late as 28 Nov 1767, when he signed a promissory note. His inventory is dated and taken on 10 Oct 1768. His widow was identified as "Sarah Peck" on 11 July 1769, so its cle3ar that she remarried Nathan Peck early in 1769. Nathan Peck died before 13 July 1789, when the bond was posted on his estate by widow Sarah Peck and Darius Peck, and his inventopry was done on 8 June 1789.

The widow Sarah Peck married third to Samuel Ray of Haddam CT as his 2nd wife before 1806. She died 3 Jan 1836, aged 90 years, 6 mos., 24 days (per the Mack genealogy)
