Genealogy Documents for Gray, Frost, Waterbury, Patchin-en, and Barrett Families

These genealogies relate to portions of my father’s family. I have obtained them during my research of his family. Some are personal genealogies and others were professionally published. I provide them without comment on their completeness. This list is by no means complete. Several key genealogies are omitted as they are readily available elsewhere. These include:

You can find the above books using Google. The links below are for less available genealogy documents that I have obtained. The validity of these documents is largely unknown, but most will contain some interesting family information that may not appear elsewhere.

Gray Genealogies

The Genealogy Of The Gray-Hort Family by Mary Ann Timon. This article was originally published in the Oswego County Historical Society's 30th publication. 1969, p. 46-51.

A Short History of the Family of Grays by Asa Gray. This document was obtained at the Saratoga Historical Society during our second family history trip.

My Grey Line by Harriett Moore. Harriett and I have exchanged several emails about the Gray/Grey family. She reports that she has been researching the family for over 50 years.

Patchen-in Genealogies

Descendants of Joseph Patchin(en) by Carole Binnig. I am unsure where I obtained this document.

Descendants of Lucy Patchen by Kathy Townsley. Kathy contacted me about Lucy Gray Patchen, wife of William Patchen according to the history and genealogy of the Patchin-Patchen family by Grace Patchen Leggett. When I asked Kathy about posting her genealogy for Lucy on this site she responded that it would be fine to include it with a caveat that any sourced corrections are gladly accepted (and appreciated).

Waterbury Genealogies

Bedford Genealogy - Descendants of the Twenty-two Original Settlers, Bedford Historical Records, Bedford Hills, New York, 1978. The Bedford Town Historian provided this section on David Waterbury, one of the twenty-two original settlers of Bedford, Westchester, New York.

Barrett Genealogies

Katonah – The History of a New York Village and Its People by Frances R. Duncombe. The Bedford Town Historian provided this section on the Barrett family which includes Abigail Waterbury Gray Barrett and her second husband Samuel Barrett.
