Noted events in his life were: • Biography: From History of Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. Christopher son of Joseph Sturgis (2) married ______ daughter of _______ and settled at Greens Farms near the Green. Their children were Nathan baptized 8 Oct. 1710; Joseph 5 Oct. 1712; Christopher 4 Sept. 1715, & probably others. • Will: From Abstract of Stamford Probate Records by Spencer P. Mead - Book One, 13 Feb 1752, Stamford, Fairfield, Connecticuit. Sturges, Christopher, late of Stamford, will dated Feb. 13, 1752, probated Apr. 28, 1755, mentions his wife Mary, and children Joseph, Christopher, Mary, wife of Captain David Waterbury, Eleanor, wife of Samuel Gray of Fairfield, Abigail, wife of David Bates of Stamford, heirs of Nathan, a deceased son, heirs of daughter Sarah, deceased wife of Zachariah Dibble of Stamford. Executor Captain David Waterbury. Witnesses Joseph Bishop, Meriday Bostwick and Abraham Davenport, page 263. Inventory taken May 23, 1755, by Abraham Davenport, and Samuel Brooker, and filed; and estate ordered distributed according to his will, pages 265 and 267. Christopher married Mary Goodwin about 1696. (Mary Goodwin was born about 1675.) |
