Thomas Rich

  Noted events in his life were:

• Family History: The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record, Volume 51, Page 223. Thomas Rich, b. in Eastham, Dec. 22, 1702; m. there Oct. 7, 1725, Thankful Mayo, and had a son Amos born there. He m. ( 2 ) at Eastham, April 13, 1727 , Thankful Sears, and had Elizabeth, Mercy, Bethiah and Peter, all born there. Beers 'History of Middlesex Co. , p. 211, says he removed from that part of Eastham, now known a sOrleans, to Middle Haddam, about 1738, and had baptized there children Bathsheba, Sarah, Thomas, and Eliakim. He d. at Chatham, Sept. 2, 1750, and on April 7, 1752, the widow Thankful was appointed guardian to Peter, aged 16, and Eliakim, aged 5, which agrees with the dates given below. The births of the last four children are from Vol. I, p. 121, of Middletown Records . The remaining dates were obtained by Mr .Kibbe .
