• Obituary: The Times, May 2001, Trenton, New Jersey. BELLA VISTA, Ark. Theodore ''Ted'' Lynch, 79, died May 7 at Bates Medical Center, Bentonville.

Born in Erie, Pa., he lived in Metuchen, N.J., many years before moving to Bella Vista.

An Army veteran of World War II, he served in England, France and Germany.
He attended the Pratt Institute, Edinboro (Pa.) College, where he received a bachelor's degree in art education, and Columbia University in New York.
He taught art at schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey 38 years, retiring after 26 years with Princeton (N.J.) public schools.

Mr. Lynch collected American folk art.

Son of the late Theodore and Catherine Lynch and brother of the late John, he is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joyce Lynch; and cousins, nieces and nephews. A graveside service in Minnesota will be held at a later date.
