"Pay Attention" Kathleen "KK" L. Kern peacefully went home to be with the Lord on February 1st, with her husband and daughter by her side.

She was born and raised in Erie, Pa., where she attended Academy High School and went on to get her Associates Degree at the Wheeler School of Fashion in Pittsburgh, Pa.

KK had a long career and currently was employed as Store Manager at JCPenney at the Ashtabula Mall. She loved spending time with her "Little People" (grandchildren), was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, and loved the sun, beach, boating and fishing. She was a pillar of her community and volunteered her time for many causes. Among her accomplishments, were Past Exalted Ruler, Member, and the Auxiliary of Erie Elks Lodge 67, Auxiliary at Siebenbuerger Club, and Auxiliary of the Fairview American Legion 742.

KK was preceded in death by her father John F. Lynch II and her mother Kathleen "Kay" M. Lynch.

She is survived by her husband Eugene L. Kern, her daughter Hetti M. Hine and husband Patrick, along with her grandchildren Brandon and Emily. KK is also survived by her brother John "Jay" F. Lynch III and his wife Judy, her sister Deborah L. Berti and her husband Gary, along with several nieces and nephews.

At the request of the family, there will be no funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to Emmaus Ministries Kids Café, 310 East 10th Street, Erie, PA 16503.
