SLINGERLANDS Anthony Tony Pennes of Autumn Drive, Slingerlands passed away suddenly at the Stratton Veteran's Hospital on Sunday, October 10, 2004 where he was a volunteer in the dental lab. Tony spent most of his adult life in Poughkeepsie working for IBM as an industrial engineer and raising his family. On June 29, 1942, he married his sweetheart, Corinne Pennes who died December 26, 2003. For the past two and a half years, Tony lived at the Beverwyck where he dined with his friends, golfed at Mill Road Acres and visited Burden Lake in the summers. In addition, he was predeceased by his son, Anthony Pennes Jr., four brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Ann Marie (John) Murray of Loudonville; his son, David (Margaret) Pennes of Los Angeles, Calif.; his brother, Richard (Shirley) Panessa; his sister, Cora Viches of Philadelphia; and his sister-in-law, Madeline Peluse of Albany; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Thursday 4-8 p.m. at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 218 Mill St., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:45 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
