Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Panessa of Highland are the parents of a boy born yesterday at Vassar hospital.

RED HOOK - Donald A. Panessa, 61, a 10-year resident of Red Hook, NY, died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at his home. Before moving to Red Hook, he lived in Pleasant Valley. Mr. Panessa was a heavy equipment operator for Route 82 Sand - Gravel in Millbrook, NY. Along with his wife, he collected antiques. In particular, he collected antique thermos bottles, lunch boxes, and tools. He also made all of the wooden parts of his wifes craft projects. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, on April 1, 1941, he was the son of Caroline Contursi Panessa of Poughkeepsie and the late Anthony Panessa. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park. On May 27, 1983 in Pleasant Valley, he married Dianne Sioleski Grega. Mrs. Panessa survives at home. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Noelle Vetter of Bristol, CT; a sister, Grace Rodak of Wappingers Falls; a brother, Joseph Panessa of Poughkeepsie; two step-children, Kelly Crawford and Michael Grega, both of Poughkeepsie; three step-grandchildren, Damian Crawford, Michael Crawford, and Zoe Crawford; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 11 Mount Carmel Place, Poughkeepsie, with Rev. Peter Khim officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Hyde Park. Friends may call on Friday, Dec. 27, from 5-8 p.m. at the Burnett and White Funeral Homes, 7461 South Broadway, Red Hook. Memorial donations may be made in Donalds memory to the American Heart Association, 301 Manchester Road, Suite 105, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Arrangements are by Kenneth G.
