Salvatore P. Rizzo, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, died 5/16, 1999 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie. Mr. Rizzo was the owner of Queen Car Wash, Poughkeepsie, since 1963. He was a member of the Italian Center and the Poughkeepsie Elks #275. Born in Poughkeepsie, he was a son of Vincent and Agnes Panessa Rizzo. He married Sandra Andrews on Nov. 28, 1959 at Our. Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Poughkeepsie. Mrs. Rizzo survives at home. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Traciann and Michael Kowalski, Wayne, N.J.; a son and daughter-in-law, Marc and Siv Rizzo, Red Hook; a sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Joseph Otello, Poughkeepsie; four grandchildren, Jessica Thompson, Allison Kowalski, Alexandra Rizzo, and Brooke Kowalski; nieces, Natasha and Toni Otello and Cathy Pezzo; nephew, Joseph Otello; grandnephew, Joseph Pezzo; and a grandniece, Rose Pezzo. Calling hours will be 10 a.m. to noon, at Parmele Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie, followed by funeral services at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery Mausoleum. Entombment will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Memorial donations 5/be made to the American Heart Association, 22 IBM Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
