From the Oregon Journal:

Funeral services for S/Sgt. Glenn E. Short, husband of Nellie E. Short of 5427 SE 45th Avenue, will be held at 3 p. m. Friday at the Mount Scott Funeral Home.

Sgt. Short, a member of C Company, 7th Infantry, 3d Division, died of wounds February 2, 1944, in Anzio, Italy. He was a machine gunner and previously had been wounded in action in Africa. He fought in the African, Sicilian and Italian campaigns. He received two Purple Hearts.

He was born in Nebraska on March 13, 1912. Short entered the regular army in 1931. Before the war, he was assigned to Vancouver barracks and maintained his home in Portland.

Survivors are his wife; three children, all of Portland, mother, Mrs. Mary Short, Oshkosh, Neb., and four brothers, among them Neil Short of Portland, and three sisters.

Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park.
