[p. 32] Mr. Abner Beckwith of Lyme was legally joined in marriage to Hannah Comstock of Montville on the 29th of Feby AD 1782.
Abner son of the said Abner & Hannah was born Decr 24th AD 1784
Hannah wife of said Abner Departed this life Decr 25th AD 1784
Abner Beckwith was legally joined in marriage to Miss Parnell Ingraham on the 16th day of January AD 1787
Samuel Ingraham their son was born August 3d AD 1788



• Military Service: From Revolutionary War records, letter dated December 11, 1924 to Bertha E. Malone, 81 Waverly Ave., Detroit, Michigan, Februrary 1776, Lyme, New London, Connecticut. He enlisted and served as a private in the Connecticut Troops as follows:

From February 1776, nine months in Captain John Ely's Company, Colonel Erastus Woloott's Regiment.

From January 1777, two months in Captain Lee Lay's Company, Colonel Dyar Throop's Regiment.

From March 1777, one month in Captain Abel Hall's Company, Colonel Jonathan Latimer's Regiment.

From April 1777, nine months in Captain Nathan Palmer's Company, Colonel John Ely's Regiment.

During 1779, four months in Captains Josephus Bushnell, Edward Chapman, and Manasseh Leech's Companies.

From April to July 1782, on board a spy boat, under Captain Oliver Comstock.

He was allowed pension on his application executed August 6, 1832, while living in Lyme, Connecticut. He died December 14, 1834.

It is not stated whether he ever married.

I doubt that this is the Abner Beckwith you are seeking that married Harriet [sic] Comstock of Montville, CT. He was of Lyme, CT and married Harriet on February 29, 1782. She died on December 25, 1784 then Abner married his 2nd wife, Parnall Ingraham, January 16, 1787. Abner died December 14, 1834 at the age of 77 and is buried in the Old Stone Church Cemetery in Lyme.

I would also be curious to know how this Abner who was in Columbia Co., NY between 1790 and 1810 is related to the CT Beckwiths.

Abner next married Parnel Ingraham on 16 Jan 1787 in Connecticut. (Parnel Ingraham was born in 1755 and died on 31 Jul 1830 in East Lyme, New London, Connecticut.)

She died on December 25, 1784 then Abner married his 2nd wife, Parnall Ingraham, January 16, 1787. Abner died December 14, 1834 at the age of 77 and is buried in the Old Stone Church Cemetery in Lyme.
