Hurt, Vernon Randall, born May 5, 1932 in Long Beach, California, passed away peacefully at his family home on May 1, 2013. Vern spent most of his life in Westminster and Midway City. He retired from Ocean View School District as the Director of Maintenance and Operations after 30 years of service. As he was never one to sit still after retirement, Vern became a cabinet maker and builder. Vern was a member of the Huntington Beach Masonic Lodge number 380. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret; children, Randy Hurt (wife Leslye), Julia Scott, Terry Hurt (wife Kepi), Kim Lynch (husband Doug) and Bill Johns (wife Anna); 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Green and Virginia McGrew; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Dorothy Hurt; brother, Eldon Hurt; and sister Janice Hutchinson. All in all a life well lived. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be contributed to your favorite charity.
