Audrey Jane Barron, 76, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (April 20, 2000) at Three Rivers Community Hospital, Washington Campus, Grants Pass. No service is planned. Her ashes will be scattered at sea by the U.S. Coast Guard.

She was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Johnstown, Pa. She attended Westmort-Upper Yoder High School, Stephens College, and Columbia University. She received a bachelor of music degree and her master of music degree from Louisiana State University.

Ms. Barron was a link trainer instructor in the U.S. Navy, was commissioned in the U.S. Army and served as a captain. She subsequently enlisted in the Army California National Guard, retiring in 1983. She then worked for the California State Department until her retirement in 1977, when she moved to Oregon.
She was a member of Waves National, the Women's Army Corps Association, the Military Order of World Wars and the Retired Officers' Association.

Ms. Barron was a member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Jacksonville.
