YAKIMA Dale R. Tinkham, 90, died at home peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004. He was born Aug. 20, 1914 to Fred and Lorraine Tinkham in St. Paul, Minn.

He was educated in St. Paul and soon after he served in the U. S. Army in France during WWII. Subsequently, he learned long distance trucking from his father in Minnesota. Trucking became his lifetime career.

From Minneapolis he and May moved to Yakima in 1970 and later to Union Gap. Here he owned and operated Tinkham Trucking, leasing to Wheels West, Inc. of Tenino, Wash. until his retirement in 1979.

He then became a biker and all he would ride were Harleys. In his later years he spent his winters in the motorhome and assisting the Harley Davidson dealer of Melbourne, Florida
