• Obituary: The Toledo Blade, Page 14, 19 Jun 1992, Toledo, Lucas, Ohio. Dr. Michael McNamara, of Gillcrest Rd. in Sylvania died in the Hospice Unit at Lake Park Hospital Thursday, June 18, 1992 at the age of 63.
A graduate of Fordham University and New York University Medical School, Dr. McNamara, a native of New York City, joined the faculty of MCO 22 years ago as chairman of the Department of Community Medicine. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Toledo Family Health Center and served for a time as its Medical Director. He was a member of the American Public Health Association, the Association of History of Medicine and served on the State Medical Board of Ohio. Dr. McNamara was active in L'Alliance Francais de Toledo and was a past president of that organization.
He is survived by his wife, Mireille Bardin-Mcnamara; and sons, Michael E., John, and David M. McNamara. There will be no visitation.
