Noted events in his life were: • Family: From Frost Genealogy, Page 392. Richard Hubbell m. three times, and she was his first wife, being the daughter of John and granddaughter of Vincent Meigs of Dorsetshire, England, who settled in Weymouth, Mass. and d. Killingworth, Conn., 1658. The will of Sargent Richard Hubbell, dated April 5, 1699, and whose estate was inventoried Sept. 3, 1699, says he is seventy-two years old. For some reason this will was not allowed, but in it he mentions his third wife, Abigail; grandson, son of Lieut. John, his eldest son; son Samuel, Sr.; grandson, Ebenezer, of deceased son Ebenezer and wife Mary; son Richard; daughter Elizabeth Frost who in 1700 was called Elizabeth Hull; daughter Mary Newton ; daughter Martha Wakeman; son Samuel, Jr. ; daughter Abigail French; daughter Sarah, who in 1700 was called Sarah Stevenson; sons James, Joseph and John. Inventory on the estate of Joseph Frost was taken March 11, 1698, and the widow Elizabeth and John Barlow were to administer the estate. He left Iwo daughters and two sons. The estate was not divided until 1707, and was then distributed to Joseph, the eldest son Abnar, Ellen and Sarah and the widow, who, prior to 1699, had m. Samuel Hull and had two children by him. She d. in 1712. Richard married Elizabeth Meigs. |
