Married Mary, widow of Samuel Grumman, by 1692 when Patchen was administrator in right of his wife on Grumman's estate. She was dau. of William Hubbard of Greenwich, whose will named her as wife of Patchen, 1702. Mary d. at Wilton, 25 Mar. 1754. Samuel Adams purchased from Jacob Patchen with consent of Patchen's wife, 1692/3, part of the long lot laid out to John Grumman dec'd.
Jacob was bapt. at Fairfield church, 17 Mar. 1694/5, and Mary renewed her Covenant, 24 Mar. 1694/5, three children being bapt. on latter date: Joseph, of Jacob and Mary Patchen; Abigail, of Jacob; and Mary Grumman, of Mary. Jacob of Norwalk conveyed 13 Nov. 1746 to son Jacob, land in Fairfield.

Jacob, bapt. 2 Nov. 1701, d. at Wilton, 4 Apr. 1764; will 29 Mar. 1764, proved 1 May 1764; m. [say 1725], Abigail Cable, dau. of John, 3d, who d. 15 Feb. 1795/6.
