Lucy was born on March 4, 1885 in Jackson County, Alabama. In 1900, Lucy Shelton married Matthew W. Sims in Jackson County, Alabama. Matthew Sims died in Jackson County, Alabama and was buried in the Blue Spring Cove (Hall) Cemetery in an unmarked grave. Vera married a second time to Homer Maples and they have one son: - Jimmy Maples. Horace and Homer Maples were brothers. Jimmy Maples married Lind Alcott and they have one son: - Jay Geurin Maples. Bessie Hastings married Robert Brown and they have three children: - Carol Brown (died at birth), - Bobby Brown, - Kathy Brown. Kathy Brown married a man named Billy.

Additional information that I have been made aware of Lucy Catherine Shelton
first married Matthew V Sims and had three
children. Henry 1903-1920 Martin 1906-1973 and William (Willis) 1907-1983.
Matthew V Sims died in 1907 and Fate L Hastings married Lucy in 1912.
