SYLVIA - Marilee Gatewood, 75, died Sept. 28, 2005, in Hutchinson Hospital. She was born July 9, 1930, in Ulysses, the daughter of Jerome J. and Marie Josephson Book. A lifetime resident of Sylvia, she was a 1948 graduate of Sylvia Rural High School. She was a bookkeeper for Texaco Pipeline, Inc. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter Henry Rohr No. 204, St. John.
On July 4, 1951, she married Gene Gatewood in Pawhuska, Okla. He survives. Other survivors include: a son, Michael E. Gatewood, and his wife, Judy, Duluth, Ga.; two daughters, Debra K. Stacy, Virginia Beach, Va., and Jeri L. Prickett and her husband, Brad, Mannford, Okla.; a sister, Jerry Samms, Sylvia; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Minnis Chapel, Stafford, with the Rev. Harry Graves presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Burial will be in Sylvia Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, in care of the chapel.
