bullet  Noted events in her life were:

• Homecoming: Oswego Morning Express, Tuesday, 30 May 1882, Oswego Town, Oswego, New York. Returned After a Long Absence.
Mrs. Ruth Champney, of Sonora Valley, Col., a sister of Mrs. Wm. Cook, of this city, returned to Oswego last week after an absence of thirty years. She left Oswego in 1852, going via. the Isthmus of Panama to join her husband in California. She was accompanied by her lit tic daughter, who died and was buried on the Isthmus. On her return cast she stopped in Illinois and her sister, Mrs. Ballard accompanied her from that State. Another sister from Massachusetts has met with them in Oswego. This is the first coming together for thirty years and for their aged mother, Mrs. Martha Dodge, it is truly a glad reunion. She has past her 90th birthday in the perfect possession of all her faculties.
