Francis X Beckwith
Noted events in his life were: • Family History: From The Beckwiths by Paul Beckwith, Page 124. Francis X. Beckwith, 1080, born in Maine, March 29, 1808; removed to Scottsville, Canada; died Gates, N. Y., in 1886; married Hannah Goodhue, born at Wheatland, N. Y.; when quite young he moved to Henrietta, attended the academy, removed to Scottsville and entered the furniture business, was active in the "Patriot War of 1837," commanding an artillery company from Wheatland, which went to the front. He was appointed sheriff and was jailer for many years. He was buried at Oatka cemetery, near Gate, N. Y. Francis married Hannah Goodhue. |
