Bio: Isaac SHERWOOD was the son of Mary (unknown) and Thomas SHERWOOD, who was born in England. In 1662 he married Elizabeth JACKSON in Fairfield, CT.

Update 2015: No marriage records have been found so far for the "duplicate" children, Elizabeth and John Sherwood, numbers 3 and 4. Their names and birth/death dates come only from private genealogies and old publications. At least two old publications note that Daniel Sherwood, child # 7, had 9 siblings. More research may clear up exactly how many children Isaac and Elizabeth had. Given the tradition of naming children to honor grandparents, aunts and uncles it's possible this family did have two Elizabeths and two Johns, who would likely have been called by nicknames. It is possible Isaac and his daughter Abigail also acquired some of their land by award through the Commission which sold lands confiscated from Loyalists after the Revolutionary War. They are each listed in the "Commissioners of Forfeiture, 1784-1786", -Abigail Sherwood on 22 Dec 1785 on page 82, and Isaac Sherwood on 18 May 1786 on page 32.
