Bio: Mrs. Jean Mantor, former Utican and a member of Bacon Women's Relief Corps for 43 years, died Nov. 27, 1945, in the home of her son, George J. Mantor, 179 Forbes Ave., Syracuse, where she had been living for the last two years.She was born in Scotland, a daughter of the late John and Jane Morrison Scott, and came to this country and to Utica as a child.She was married here to George Mantor Sr., whose death occurred years ago.She leaves four children, George Mantor of Syracuse; Mrs. Martin Hawrylow, Oshkosh, Wis.; F. Thomas Mantor and Mrs. George F. Barber, Utica; a sister, Mrs. Fred Reese, Ilion, and a brother, James Scott, Nevada; 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.The funeral will be at 1 pm tomorrow from the Carl J. Ballweg Funeral Home, 457 James, Syracuse, and at 2:30 from Forest Hill Conservatory, where the Rev. Harry V. Bonner, pastor of Sayre Church, will conduct the service. Burial will be in the family plot in Forest Hill.Published in the Utica Daily Press, November 1945
