b- Hartford, Ct., April 26, 1720, son of Capt. ]ohn3 (]ohn2, ]ohn1) and Elizabeth (Pitkin) Marsh. When an infant in 1721 he was taken with his father’s family to Litchfield, Ct., where his sister and brothers settled. His father retained his interests in Hartford and returned there when Hezekiah was 11 or 12, about 1731. This youngest son settled in Hartford. He seems to have succeeded to his father’s business and influence and is mentioned in Hartford Co. Memorial History among the prominent men of Hartford. His father’s large account book, with family records and hints of family occupations and business transactions, became Capt. Hezekiah’s own account book and is a mine of information. It is now (1893) in the possession of his great-grandson, John E. Marsh, Esq., 1190 Windsor Ave., Hartford. He m. (1) Dec. 1, 1744, No. 688.

Capt. Hezekiah‘ Marsh, d. 1791, ae. 71. By his will he gave his granddaughter Christian Merrill, dau. Capt. Charles and Christian (Marsh) Merrill, “the sum of £30 when she shall arrive at eighteen years of age.” He also manumitted his “negro girl, ‘Phebe' after she shall arrive at the age of 26 years, she being now 14.”
