Bio: "After a long and painful Illness, Mrs. Lydia Jane Beckwlth died at her home at North Pembroke yesterday, aged 57 years and 22 days. Mrs. Beckwith is survived by her husband, Harris Beckwith, and four children, Mrs. Bertha J. Bolton of Paterson, N. J., Elsie, Vice Principal of Schools at the House of Refuge, Kendall's Island, New York; H. Arthur of East Pembroke and Grover of North Pembroke. She also leaves one brother and four sisters, Mrs. Susan M. Snell of Hoosick Falls, Mrs. Lucy A. McGiveron of Pontiac[?] and Libbie E. Kinsley, Mrs. Martha A. Finch and Amos G. Seamans, all of Wisconsin. The interment was in the new cemetery at East Pembroke." (July 30, 1900, The Daily News, Batavia, NY)
