• Family History: From John Huntley of Lyme, Connecticut and His Descendants, Ivy Huntley, 1953, page 15. AARON HUNTLEY (3) (John) born in Boston April 15, 1654; Baptised in the First Church of Roxbury Oct., 27, 1657, died Lyme, Conn. May 24, 1741-2; married Feb. 22, 1676 Mary daughter of Henry Champion, emigrant of Hugunot descent and his wife Sarah. Mary died Dec. 10, 1732 aged 84 years, Aaron was among the 180 men from Connecticut who served as soldiers against the indians and was among those who later drew Cedar Swamp lots as a reward for service, From Soldiers in King Phillips War, Bodge, 1896.

Aaron Huntley lived with his parents at Lyme, now called East Lyme, until his father's death when he built a house upon the lot willed to him by his father.

Oct. 2, I702, page 265 of Lyme land records. " Laid out to Aaron Huntley fifty one acres of Upland, swamps and bogge, be it more or less, the west side of Four Mile River above the Tilestons twenty acre lott, bonded Ely with the said River, Nly and Wly with the Commons, Sly partly with the Commons and partly with the Tileston'e boundary ….. upon the account of the last grant of the fourth division for him and his wife, and son John's right, which is in full satisfaction for the same."

Jan. 1 1702-3 Aaron Huntley renewed the bounds of his land at Four Mile River before giving grants of land to his sons.

In the name of God Amen, This twenty fifth Day of January in ye year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred Forty One, I, Aaron Huntley of Lyme in ye County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England, Being of sound mind and memory thanks be given to God for it yet calling to mind ye mortality of my body end knowing it is appointed for all men once to die do ordain and make this my last will and testament.

Fist of all I give and bequeath my seal to God that who gave it me and my body to be decently bured in the earth from which it came, in hopes of receiving the same again by the power of God at the General Resurectioh att the last day. As to such worly goods and estate as I have not all ready where it has pleased Almighty God to Bless me with in this life I give and despose of in this following maner and form, as to my sons John and Aaron Huntly, Jr, I have given them their full portion in land, already by deed of gift and in other goods and as to my son Daniel Huntley deceased I have given him his full portion in land and other goods all ready.

Item is to my grandauter Mary Lattemore, the dsuter of my son Solomon Huntley deceased I give her five shillings and also I have ordered my son David Huntley to pay her five pounds on her marriage Day which is all I intend for her. As to my dauter Elizabeth the wife of Matthew Beckwith deceased I have given her all her portion all ready.

As to my son David Huntley deceased I have given him several things ready, Item Weto my dauter Ruth I have given her all her portion all revdy, Item as to my grandauter Ledy Huntly, dauter of my son David Huntly deceased for her dutyfulness love and good will which she bares to me I do give her after my death all of my estfite viz: All my hous hold good and waring aparel everything I am sees att my death obliging her to take care and maintain in sickness and in health her brother Simon Huntly and I do appint my grandauter Ldy Huntly of Lyme above to be my exectrix to this my last will and testement hereby revoking and making void all other wills made by me at any time whatsoever and I do confirm this my last will and testament where unto I have set my hand and fixed my seal the day and date above mentioned.

2. Elizabeth, b, March 16, 1679; married first as his third wife Westhall Cogswell, who died Apr. 21, 1709 She married second Matthew Beckwith born Apr. 16, 1667 and died 17__. He married second Hannah Champion. Elizabeth died before 1741, Child by Cogswell, Martha.
3. Aaron, b, Dec. 1, 168O.
4, Daniel, b May 25, 1682.
5, Mary, b, Feb. 14, 1685; probably died before 1742.
6. Jane, b. Sept. 16, 1686; Probably died before 1741.
7. David, b, Mar. 17, 1688.
8. Solomon, b, May 31, 1691; died Aug. 9, 1712.
