• Obituary: Erie Daily Times, 7 Dec 2009, Erie, Erie, Pennsylvania, USA. Robert E. Gray, USMC , age 22, passed away Saturday December 5, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family following a courageous fight with cancer. He was born April 15, 1987 in Syracuse, N.Y. the son of Thomas O'Brien Gray and the late Debrah Perry Gray. Robert was a 2006 graduate of Moravia High School in Moravia, N.Y. where he played football and excelled in woodworking and metal craft. Following graduation, he joined the Marine Corp and was recently stationed at Marine Air Station Cherry Point in North Carolina where he received the rank of Corporal. Besides his father, he is survived by his grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Gray of Erie and he is the nephew of Rebecca Fluegel and her husband Larry of Erie; Robert Gray and his wife Mary Alice of Arlington, VA.; Barry Gray and his wife Christine Troutman of Erie; Gordon Perry and his wife Sherry of Syracuse, N.Y.; Richard Perry and his wife Philomena of Deerfield Beach, Fla. and Darlene Retchless of Syracuse, N.Y. He is also survived by a great-uncle Edward Mantor of Silver Springs, Md. and a great-aunt, Frances Eileen Lynch of Erie along with numerous cousins. Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend Funeral Services Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in New Hope Presbyterian Church, 5440 Washington Ave. Burial with Military Honors will be in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
