From 1900 Census • Obituary: The Fairport Herold, Wednesday, 15 Mar 1916, Fairport, Monroe, New York. Rhoda Thompson Gibbs, widow of Warren S. Gibbs, formerly a passenger engineer of the New York Central railroad, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elmer E. Clark, 932 Wescott street, Syracuse, March 12. Mrs. Gibbs was born at Lovett's Corners, Penfield, December 15, 1834, a daughter of Josiah and Polly Haines Thompson, who were early settlers of Monroe county. She lived in Rochester till the death of her husband sixteen years ago. Since that time she had made her home with her daughter. Besides her daughter she is survived by two sons, eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, and one brother and sister. Mrs. Gibbs was a former member of the Park Avenue Baptist church in Rochester. The funeral was held at .Mount Hope chapel yesterday afternoon. • Cemetery: From Find a Grave, 1916, Rochester, Monroe, New York. Rhoda Thompson Gibbs Rhoda married Warren Sylvester Gibbs, son of Hiram Gibbs and Clarissa Gray. (Warren Sylvester Gibbs was born in 1837 in Oswego Town, Oswego, New York and died on 28 May 1899 in Rochester, Monroe, New York.) |
