Mrs. A. K Beckwith.
Today, Feb. 11, 1885, Mrs. Beckwith, widow of Dr. A K. Beckwith. and mother of James A. Beckwith, of this city, died in Palermo in the 73rd year of her age. Dr. A. K. Beckwith was a prominent physician of the county, and died in Palermo in 1833. He and Miss Wynans were married in Onondaga county in 1831, and settled in Palermo in 1833. Since the death of her husband Mrs. Beckwith had constantly lived in Palermo where she was universally esteemed for many excellent qualities of head and heart. Indeed it is said of her that she lived not for herself but for others. Mrs. Beckwith had six children, five of whom are still living, namely: James A. Beckwith of Oswego; D. B. and G. W. Beckwith of Michigan; Mrs. Johnson of Syracuse, and Miss Adelaide Beckwith who lived with her mother.
