• Biography: From Descendant of John Shelton by Robert and Harold Casey. WILLIAM SHELTON (1.5) is the son of John Shelton and Catherine (Messer) Shelton. William was born on December 27, 1811 in Virginia. Around 1835, William Shelton married Martha Pace, both direct ancestors of the authors. Martha was born in April of 1817 in Scott County, Virginia and is the daughter of William Pace, Jr. and Elizabeth (Wininger) Pace.
