• Family History: From Beckwith Note 6, by Albert C. & Edward S. Beckwith, 1907, Page 7. JOHN, (Jonah, Matthew, [Mathew]), was born at Lyme, Feb. 11, 1697; married July 7. 1724 SARAH ANDERSON (probably). JOHN'S estate was administered in 750 by his widow, and her own the next year by BENJAMIN, his brother. Neither the date of JOHN'S death nor the number of his children is exactly known from record. Rev. Jonathan Parsons baptized Nos. 125-129. Rev. Stephen Johnson baptized Nos. 130-132, and his record errs as to their parents.

These three [130, 131, and 132] may have been children of John, [John, Nathaniel, Mathew]. Not included in his family.

• Probate: Number 349, 1750, Lyme, New London, Connecticut. The probate reecord includes two bonds as follows:

Bond signed by Sarah Beckwith and Joshua Rowland, 8 July 1750.

Bond signed by Benjamin Beckwith, his brother, and Joshua Champion, 9 Feb. 1750/1.

It is not known why there are two bonds for his estate. Beckwith note 6 implies that the first was for his estate and the second was for his wife's estate as she died the following year.

John married Sarah Anderson, daughter of Thomas Anderson and Hana Peck, on 7 Jul 1724 in Lyme, New London, Connecticut. (Sarah Anderson was born on 22 Apr 1703 in Lyme, New London, Connecticut and died in Feb 1751 in Lyme, New London, Connecticut.)
