Noted events in her life were: • Family: From The Ancestry of Emily Jane Engle, Dean Crawford Smith, 1992, page 234. MARY, born New London say 1710; likely the Mary Beckwith, singlewoman, presented for fornication 25 November 1729 at NL County Court, and offerred John Beckwith as her surety (NL Co. Court, v. 17, #23 & 9 June 1730 #3). On both court dates she failed to appear. Her child not seen, nor whom she accused; probably the Mary who published New London 22 March 1729/30 to WILLIAM LUTHER (Hempstead Diary, p.219). |
