William E. Gray, 61, 949 E. 36th St., died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at his home.
He was born Oct. 28, 1941, in Erie, son of Mary "Betty" Lynch Gray of Erie and the late Robert B. Gray.
As owner of Topic Technologies in Virginia, he worked as an analyst. He also wrote programs for the computer industry and worked for the government.
He graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School in 1961 and attended Gannon College.
He enjoyed reading and sports, especially racquetball and golf.
He was preceded in death by a son, William R. Gray.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Stafford Gray; a daughter, Julie Mary Gray of Erie; three brothers, Robert F. Gray and his wife, Mary Alice, of Arlington, Va., Brian Gray and his wife, Denise Tyrell, of Locke, N.Y., and Barry Gray and his wife, Chris Troutman, of Erie; a sister, Rebecca Fluegel and her husband, Larry, of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours and a service will be private.
Burial will be at Mary, Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, 728 W. Ninth St.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society, 418 W. 38th St., Erie, PA 16508.
