Poughkeepsie, NY - Celeste V. Jessie Calio, 98, of Poughkeepsie passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Jessie was born April 6, 1914 in Rochester, NY the daughter of the late Michele Vincitore and Marta Roglieri.
On October 7, 1934 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, she married Pasquale Calio. Mr. Calio passed away November 26, 1980.
Jessie is survived by her son, Joseph Calio and his wife Gene Watson-Calio, her daughter Celeste, granddaughter Karen and her husband Rick Versace, great grandchildren Shannon and Keith, Ayriel, Kyle and Terri, Jorrell and Sarah, great great grandchildren Alyssa, Bre-Ann, Brian, Isabella, Matthew, Alivia, Justin, Siearah, and Eric, her brother Joseph Vincitore, her sisters Catherine Chiriatti, Jane and husband George Scivolette, Lee and husband Frank Morea, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandson Dale P. Calio.
Calling hours will take place Friday, October 5th from 10 am-11:30 am at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 218 Mill Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Wheelchair entrance is located in the rear of the funeral home on Vassar Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Friday, October 5th immediately following the calling hours at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Poughkeepsie, with burial to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY. Donations may be made in Jessie's name to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
