  Noted events in her life were:

• Birth: Conflicting information, 1827, Cork, Ireland. Her gravestone gives 1827 as the year of her birth. The 1892 New York State Census gives her age as 55 yielding a birth year of 1837. Her death certificate states she was 65 years old when she died in 1892, yielding a birth year of 1827. He age on the death certificate appears to have been crossed out and 57 written above. The altered age would mean she was born in 1835. The National Library of Ireland shows baptism records for the parish of Castlemagner are complete for 1835 and 1837 but none for 1827. 1827 is assumed to be correct.

• Residence: Internet search results, 1860, Kanturk, Cork, Ireland. Two of their children, William and James, were found at Family Search org with a birthplace of Kanturk, Cork, Ireland. Both children's birth years were off by two years but their birth months were the same as found in US Census information.

Subsequently found a post by JAHarris as follows: "Looking for information on ggrandparents Richard J. Connell and Johanna Kennedy, both born in 1827. They lived in Bluepool, Castlemagner parish. I have also seen Kanturk listed. One of their daughters was my grandmother Annie J. (Johanna) born around 1860. They emigrated to US in about 1880 and settled in Buffalo, New York."

Clearly, this is the same Richard O'Connell and Johanna Kennedy. Bluepool is located just outside Kanturk, Cork, Ireland.

Consistent with family history.

• Residence: From 1892 New York State Census, 16 Feb 1892, Buffalo, Erie, New York. Lists her age as 55 which would make her birth year about 1837. Also states she is a citizen of the US.

• Obituary: Buffalo Evening News, 2 Jun 1892, Buffalo, Erie, New York.

• Gravestone: Johanna OConnell, Jun 1892, Lackawana, Erie, New York. Holy Cross Cemetery

Johanna married Richard OConnell, son of Unknown Connell and Unkown, about 1846. (Richard OConnell was born in 1827 in Cork, Ireland, died on 1 Aug 1895 in Buffalo, Erie, New York and was buried in Aug 1895 in Lackawana, NY.)

• Marriage: There is a gap in the Roman Catholic Church marriage records. The records jump from 4 February 1845 to 21 January 1847. The parish priest, Reverand John Riodan, died 15 May 1847 and was replaced by Reverand William Hogan 29 June 1847.
