The funeral of Robert C. Macdonald of 309 Cayuga St., former superintendent of schools in Fulton, was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in First Methodist church with Rev. J. Robert Riggle, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Mt. Adnah cemetery.
In failing health for several months, Mr. Macdonald died Sunday while visiting at the home of his daughter, Miss Janet Macdonald in Gilboa. Mr. Macdonald has been a teacher and school administrator 43 years before his retirement last June as head of the Fulton school system, a position he held since 1954. Prior to becoming school superintendent, Mr. Macdonald served as, principal at Fulton high school since 1929. Before coming to Fulton, Mr. Macdonald was principal of Manlius high school, serving from 1921 to 1929. He was a science teacher at Oswego high school from 1916 to 1921. Born in Pawtucket, R. I., Mr. Macdonald was graduated from Haverling high school at Bath in 1912. He received his BA degree in 1916 from Wesleyan University and his MA degree in 1921 from Columbia University. He was a Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Macdonald had been a member of the Fulton Teachers' Association, the New York State Teachers Association, American Association of School Administrators, and Fulton Chamber of Commerce. He was a member and past president of the Fulton Rotary Club and the Oswego-Fulton Torch Club and also had served as president of the Oswego County Boy Scouts of America Council.
Mr. Macdonald also had served as a member of the Selective Service advisory board and the mayor's traffic advisory committee and was a trustee of First Methodist church. He was a past mater of Frontier City Lodge No. 422 F. and A.M., of Oswego and had been president of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association and the Central Zone of the New York State Teachers Association. He was a member of the first joint committee on athletics appointed by the New York State Department of Education and was a member of the teacher welfare committee of the New York State Teachers' Association. He also was a member of the board of directors of the Fulton Public Library and the Oswego County Health Association.
Surviving are his daughter, Miss Janet Macdonald; a son, Robert Macdonald of Kingston; a granddaughter, Nancy Macdonald of Kingston; his mother, Mrs. William Macdonald; and a sister, Miss Ruth Macdonald of Fulton. His wife, Mrs. Marion Gorman Macdonald, died two weeks ago.
Robert married Grace L. Stevenson, daughter of Frederick H. Stevenson and Laura Jane Goodnow, on 26 Jun 1917 in Oswego, Oswego, New York. (Grace L. Stevenson was born Februrary 1893 in Oswego, Oswego, New York and died on 22 Oct 1946 in Fulton, Oswego, New York.)

Stevenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick H. Stevenson, of No. 6 Varick street, were united in marriage at three o'clock yesterday afternoon at the bride's home. The ceremony was simple in form, there being no attendants. It was performed by the Rev. Jabez Stallwood. The home was handsomely decorated for the occasion. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William MacDonald. of No. 173 West Fifth street.
